Dr. Roger Firestien delivered a workshop “Unleashing the Power of Creativity” on March 2, 2016 at the Harry D. McGovern Alumni Center at North Dakota State University.
The purpose of the workshop was to provide participants with creativity and innovation skills that they can apply immediately so that participants can turn on their creativity at will instead of waiting for ideas to happen.
Topics included
• how to use critical thinking rather than criticism to stimulate good ideas
• cutting-edge research on creativity and innovation: what works, what doesn't
• strategies for developing a climate for creativity and innovation
• how leaders can play a vital role in developing a work environment that promotes creativity
• how mistakes can actually stimulate innovation
• how to make a habit of being creative
• how to encourage the creative contributions of everyone in your organization.
• applications of creativity in business, education, health care, human services, and life.
Approximately 80 people from a variety of industries and organizations attended the event including individuals form North Dakota State University, North Dakota State University Research and Technology Park, Appareo and John Deere.
